To protect these crucial transformation initiatives, organizations need a strong culture of cybersecurity that starts at the C-level. Many should consider elevating the CISO role to the senior leadership team, he said.

"Cybersecurity risk was always there; it's not that it's a new topic. The intensity of the cyber risk has gone up significantly, particularly around COVID time. Once people started working from home, the risk spread to each and every individual. Each laptop became a risk point, and this is spread across the country," he said.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at the Mumbai Summit, Sambasivan G also discussed:

  • The coming AI evolution;
  • The link between cyber risk and business risk;
  • The interconnectedness of data protection, data privacy and cybersecurity;

Sambasivan G has over 30 years of professional experience in senior roles in finance and general management. Prior to joining Tata Play, he worked at Vodafone Essar and BPL Mobile Communications.
