Rushing advises security leaders to "learn as many things as possible" and not gravitate to one solution, product or platform. "Keep refining the process. If you stop innovating, you're going to get hit," he says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Rushing also discusses:

  • Tips for cyber risk prioritization;
  • Why partners are critical components in cybersecurity;
  • Why innovation is key to staying ahead of the attackers.

Rushing leads the global security team responsible for tackling the emerging threats of mobile devices, targeted attacks, and cybercrime. Prior to Motorola Mobility, he served as CSO at Motorola AirDefense. Previously, he founded LOCH Technologies, a global leader of next-generation wireless threat monitoring, and served as its vice president of technical services and CSO.
