Cloud-Based Threat Protection

Seculert's Matot on Responding to Advanced Threats
Cloud-based advanced threat protection helps organizations detect sophisticated malware that is able to bypass existing security measures. The key is to start with the premise that the network is already infected, says Seculert's Dudi Matot.

"Where other vendors look to make a threat from becoming an infection, Seculert assumes the network is already infected," Matot says. "We are watching outbound traffic [traveling] from your network to the bad guys."

Seculert intercepts this malware and becomes a member of the "bad guy's" network, all without installing software on premise, Matot says.

In an interview at the Infosecurity Europe 2014 conference in London, Matot discusses:

  • Detecting malicious threats using outbound traffic;
  • How Seculert observes malware;
  • What's next in advanced threat protection.

Matot brings over 14 years of customer-driven business and technical leadership to Seculert. Prior to Seculert, Dudi was in management at SanDisk, where he was responsible for the initiation, development and market delivery for their Secure Enterprise mobile product lines. Previously, he worked for over 10 years at Check Point Software Technologies and was responsible for driving customer-oriented solutions from the design stage through execution and release.
