The deployment of cloud access security broker, or CASB, technology should be based on the kind of data that is stored in the cloud, says Jagdeep Singh, CISO at Rakuten India.

"So let's say you have certain applications on cloud which have customer data, you have other internal applications put on the internet which if gets exposed you have lot of regulatory issues. This is where the [CASB] implementation comes up," Singh says.
