In an interview with Information Security Media Group, Kumar Ritesh, CEO and founder of Singapore-headquartered cybersecurity firm Cyfirma, explores the threat landscape in 2022 and the new TTPs among cybercriminals and offers his opinion about how and why the first offensive action in the next war will be a cyberattack.

In this session, Ritesh also discusses:

  • Tactics used by cybercriminals to maintain persistence and remain undetected after intrusion;
  • Why organizations must use layered defenses and adopt a Zero Trust approach;
  • How threat actors can use IoT and OT environments to launch a kinetic cyberattack.

Ritesh founded Cyfirma, which specializes in cyber intelligence with attack surface discovery and digital risk protection, in December 2017. As the former head of cyber intelligence at U.K. foreign intelligence service MI6, Ritesh has assessed firsthand cyberthreats and risks on a global scale. He was also a senior executive for multinational corporations IBM and PwC.
