ConnectWise wants to embed security capabilities within the operational tools used by managed services providers so those MSPs can protect clients without additional complexity, said CEO Manny Rivelo.

The Tampa, Fla.-based company wants to empower MSPs with managed security offerings from backup to fully managed MDR and SIEM that can be adapted to the needs of small to mid-sized businesses, according to Rivelo. He said ConnectWise's Security360 enables MSPs to consolidate their security operations and manage native and third-party cybersecurity tools from a single pane of glass for a comprehensive overview (see: Future-Proofing Cybersecurity With Data-Centric Approaches).

"If you connect to the Internet, you connect to the web, you connect to the cloud and you don't have security, you're completely vulnerable and at risk," Rivelo said. "Quite often, the SMB market does not have the expertise to provide those services themselves. So it's a perfect marriage of an MSP bringing that forward and allowing the end user to be protected."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Rivelo also discussed:

  • The impact of the Axcient and SkyKick acquisitions on enhancing data protection and backup services;
  • How a scalable, multi-tenant platform will boost MSP efficiency and security;
  • Differing market demands by SMBs around ease of use, integration and managed services.

Rivelo has held senior executive roles at several of the world’s top technology and security firms, including Forcepoint, Arista Networks, AppViewX, F5 Networks and Cisco Systems. His expertise spans executive leadership, product management, customer success and sales, positioning him to guide ConnectWise in delivering exceptional security and service solutions for its partners.
