Assistant Commissioner, Federal Policing Special Services, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

After joining the RCMP in 1986, Shean has led a prosperous career steeped in operational policing, eventually earning himself the title of Assistant Commissioner of Financial Crime in 2011 and his current position as Assistant Commissioner of Federal Policing Special Services in 2012. In this role, he is responsible for Federal Coordination centers, National Intelligence coordination, Border Integrity, Witness Protection, and RCMP's International portfolio, all working to ensure the safety and security of Canadians and Canadian institutions by taking measures against terrorists, organized crime groups, and other forms of criminal activity. A/Commr. Shean is also the Chair of international committees such as the G7 Law Enforcement Projects Sub-Group and the Criminal Intelligence Advisory Group of the Five Eye Law-Enforcement group, as well as co-Chair of the CACP's Private Sector Liaison Committee.
